Course Description: This is a survey course about World History. Our journey will travel around the globe and even through time as we learn about all major ancient civilizations. We will connect their contributions to our modern world as we learn.
Goals: As stated in Wisconsin Standards.
Academic Requirements:
Daily/weekly assignments will be required. In many cases you will have class time to get started on these. In some cases you may even finish these during class time. It is the responsibility of the student to stay on schedule, reading appropriate assigned material, participating in classroom discussions and activities, taking notes and completing assignments on time. Unexcused late work may result in failure of the class.
World History is required for graduation.
Computers will be used. Students need to comply with all federal & state laws as well as school policies regarding computer & internet usage while working in class.
All assignments including special projects & reports must be completed by assigned due date.
Classroom expectations:
Be respectful to others. This is a learning environment and disrespect and disruptions effect everyone's learning.
Please follow teacher directions the first time they are given. Basic rules and consequences are in the Student Handbook.
Please come prepared for class daily. This means bring your books, notebook, writing utensils and assignments, etc.
Please sit in assigned seat.
Admit slips are required on those rare days that you may miss class. If your absence is excused then you will be allowed to turn in assignments you may have missed due to the absence. However, if the absence is unexcused you may not receive credit for missed work.
My desk, file cabinets, and computers are off limits to students unless given specific, prior permission by me to enter and/or use them.
Please be respectful to the environment. Books should be covered and treated with respect. Also please take care of the desks, furniture, posters, etc. Lost or damaged books and school materials, including desks, etc. will result in financial restitution by the person responsible.

While our government's fundamental principles and it's basic stricture have remained constant over time it remains extraordinarily dynamic through growth, adaptation and innovation. In this course we will examine tribal, federal, state and local government within the U.S. As well as various forms of government around the world.
